Self ♡ Love notes (SLN) 3: Personal Relationships

What’re your relationships looking like? Do you have healthy relationships with your friends, family, significant other(s)? Do you feel respected, appreciated, accepted, comfortable to say & do what naturally comes to you?

The dynamics of our relationships can give us insight on how we feel about ourselves & also how we're resonating with the world outside of us.

If the people you keep around you, especially but not limited to your inner circle, makes you feel loved, appreciated, seen & comfortable to be yourself—I think it’s safe to say that you’re at least exuding self-love which in turn is vibrating it right back at ya.

However, if you do not feel that people respect you (whether it be your time, space, opinion, etc), nor do you feel safe being your true self, then perhaps you are not setting the necessary personal boundaries. These boundaries usually come from the way you feel about yourself.... your self-worth... your confidence... The boundaries are either explicitly stated or just respected from the way you treat yourself.

We all have insecurities of some sort, but the way we treat and care for ourselves, or in other words—the relationship we have with ourselves—is essential to having healthy relationships with others.

Don't expect someone to speak life into you (unless it's ya momma haha) if you can't even muster up those same sentiments about yourself. Ultimately, you set the tone for how you should be treated in your relationships, both romantic and platonic.
