Experience Tulum Like a Well-Traveled IT Girl - Part 1

ᴛʀᴀᴠᴇʟɪɴɢ ᴜɴʙᴏᴛʜᴇʀᴇᴅ: Protecting your peace, while OTG living the life you manifested, prayed & worked smarter not harder for.

Here’s How To Experience Tulum, MX Like a Well-Traveled IT Girl.

✨SHARE with your travel crew & SAVE for your next Tulum trip ✨

Step 1: Book your flight to CUN (Cancun, MX).
Step 2: Prepare to Travel Unbothered by arranging your 1.5-2 hour transport from CUN to Tulum, at the time of booking or at least 3-4 days prior to travel day.

If you’ve never traveled to CUN airport, click here for additional information on successfully navigating the Cancun, MX airport, 'cus it is a MESS.

Step 3: Have snacks for both the flight and the drive, especially if your inbound flight is lengthy, because as we know, the journey to Tulum will be a 1.5 - 2 hour drive.

The transport we took was booked through the first hotel, Ma’xanab Tulum. The transporter arrived in a clean suburban and had 5-6 small bags of potato chips and small bottles of water for us to enjoy (both cold and room temperature options). Knowing there wouldn't be a 5-course meal served as backseat snacks, my picky behind brought my own snacks to indulge in to ensure my happiness & comfortability didn't miss a beat :) #QueenofTravelingUnbothered

IT Girl Tip: Once you reach the airport, the 'hard' part should be behind you. Plan your trip in a way that will have you carefree; there should not be a need for worrying about decision-making or intense planning.

Step 4: Enjoy your soft life.

I arrived in Tulum on a Tuesday. Stayed at the Ma’xanab Boutique Hotel until Friday.

Although on the pricey side, the stay was worth the splurge. There are roughly around 16 rooms, we stayed in the upper floor suite in front of the sea. Here is how the website describes this particular room:

"Located on the top floor, just under the sky of Tulum and with the best view of the sea, this suite is the opportunity to experience not only the good, but the best.

A few meters from our restaurant, this suite has a terrace and private pool where the sense of space and privacy welcomes you."

Whew. The luxury 😍  ✈︎⇢ "...not only the good, but the best... space and privacy welcomes you."
SOLD.

I packed everything I needed to feel comfortable and tended-to away from home, Including two OTG BEAUTYREST Satin Pillowcases, for bae and myself; a pair of VIP LOUNGING Hotel Slippers - the place was boujee af, but I will always feel most comfortable walking in my slippers. And lastly, the Rollup Stowaway Layover Bag because duh! -- it's my forever travel companion for the shopping, day parties, photoshoot looks, easy move from one hotel to the next, and the list goes on. I literally had to shake and wipe the sand away before rolling & zipping it up and placing It back Into my carry-on luggage.

I cannot take credit though, it was all Bae. He did an amazing trabajo (that's "job/work" in Spanish ;) choosing our accommodations and planning the trip.

Step 5: Indulge in First-Class Energy.

Concierge was a WhatsApp message away. The suites were open room concepts—the few doors were: the front entrance, a heavy sliding, wood panel door to the terrace, & a glass sliding door to the outside shower.

Yes, an outside shower. Found to the left of the 2 - 4 person shower (it was quite large with 2 overhead shower heads) was another enclosed, private showerbut outdoors.

Breakfast was included daily — which consisted of coffee/tea and juice, fruit bowl, and a main entree. Anything more, of course was an additional fee.

From the keyless, magnetic bracelet room entrance (seen worn on the post's cover photo), to the personal private terrace with the mini pool jacuzzi and Ma'xanab Tulum's beautiful scenic grounds, Ma’xanab Tulum is Flyy IT Girl approved; and furthermore, a lover’s paradise, and a solo traveler’s safe and private luxury escape.

It has definitely earned its spot on my list of favorite hotels.

My boyfriend and I like to vacation for at least a week, and within the week we sometimes enjoy splitting our stay between 2 beautiful places to get different experiences.

Subscribe to the weekly newsletter (pink '10% OFF' tab to the left or bottom) & stay tuned for next week's Part 2, at the next hotel location.
